Stunning Lake Michigan views make this amazing home the perfect location for your up north vacation. Relax and enjoy your time on the beach or sit on the deck to listen to the tranquil sounds of the water. There are two decks for your enjoyment: one right off the house and a large deck closer to the water. Ideal for watching the kids, taking in the amazing water view, or socializing. There is a nice grassy backyard for the kids to play without worry. Finish the day roasting marshmallows at the fire pit. Take advantage of the fully stocked gourmet kitchen, great barbecuing to be had on the gas grill. This home has a nice open concept which is great for socializing or quality family time. This three bedroom, two bath home also has a small loft area on the second floor has two additional twin beds. Stay connected with free Wi-Fi. All bed, bath & kitchen linens provided, as well as a washer and dryer in the home. The cottage is located just north of the village of Northport and close proximity to the Leelanau State Park and Grand Traverse Lighthouse. Easy drive to popular Fishtown, and less than 45 minutes to the National Sleeping Bear Dunes. Take a leisurely drive and explore all of the vineyards, orchards, and Leelanau Peninsula Wine Trails. Make a day of it and drive to Traverse City (less than 40 minutes) for shopping, great restaurants, or the Peninsula Wine Trails. This is the home that will give you great vacation memories to last a lifetime! Please refer to our terms and conditions for the house rules. Please note that this home is rented for your quiet enjoyment. Due to liability reasons, township rules and insurance policies, day guests are not permitted without expressed permissions from Management. Guest capacity for the home is NOT to be exceeded at any time. Guests not adhering to this rule could face a fine or eviction as outlined in our terms and conditions that are agreed upon by renting our home. Capacity is strictly enforced and randomly checked. We will provide a starter package of paper towel, toilet paper, garbage bags, hand soap, dish soap and/or dishwasher tabs if a dishwasher is available at the property. Depending on the length of your stay, you may need to purchase more of these items. Other items not included in this list are not guaranteed. Please reach out to management to inquire if a particular amenity is important to your stay, or plan accordingly. This is perhaps the best rental we’ve found after years of going up to the Leelanau Peninsula. The location is perfect, the layout of the home is comfortable and spacious, and it has every amenity a family needs to hunker down for a stay. Simply put, it’s everything a family could ask for when staying in the Northport area. Also, hosts are very responsive and friendly to any and all questions.

The real estate adage—“location, location, location”—describes this beautiful vacation home that suited our extended multi-age family perfectly. Inside are both three roomy, private bedrooms (and one loft space) and open plan, lodge-style gathering spaces. Opposite the fully-equipped kitchen, a long table accommodates meals and jigsaw puzzles. Light streams in huge windows with lake views. Outside, the beach is stunning in its simplicity: clear water, fine, clean sand, and smooth rocks decorating a fire ring. In between house and beach is an ingenious lower deck, partly sheltered, and furnished for cocktail hour and meals. Sunset views inside or out are spectacular. Northport is close by for supplies or kid pleasures in its park on the cove. The famous dune attractions, wineries, pubs and restaurants are short drives. When not simply relaxing, we enjoyed them all.

The house is beautiful, with perfect lake side views, tasteful decor, and great natural light. The property is even better, offering a private beach and a furnished lakeside deck. The deck is great to share a meal on or to enjoy the stunning sunsets. From the private beach you can walk along miles of beautiful beach or push off into the lake on a kayak or paddle board (not Included) to explore the northern peninsula. Over the Edge is a truly special place! This is my second year staying there and I hope continue visiting every year going foward.

We have been traveling to Northern Michigan every summer for almost ten years now and compared with the two other houses we've rented in that time this was hands down the most comfortable, well maintained home we've had the pleasure of staying at. Quiet and welcoming with wonderful views of the water and access to a great Michigan beach. Close to Northport (and other communities) but with a relaxing sense of seclusion.

The beach access and sunsets are amazing. Quiet area, nice property. Short ride to town. Home was comfortable. One of the bedroom areas pictured is open/loft style, no door, above the kitchen area - which was nice, but not something we anticipated in terms of our family/extended family sleeping configuration. Well equipped home. Loved our stay in Northport!

We had a wonderful stay at this lovely lake house! The beach was beautiful and it offered sand for castle building, small sections of washed up rocks for collecting, and Lake Michigan for swimming. It also offered a spectacular view, especially at sunset , and a refreshing and relaxing atmosphere. We were close to breweries, wineries, biking trails, hiking trails, and quaint towns for dining and shopping. The house itself had plenty if space, tons of windows, a fireplace, and a good sized kitchen and good sized dining room table. We would recommend this lake house to vacationers who enjoy nature and having fun!

“Over the Edge” is A relaxing place to stay on the Leelanau Peninsula. Beautiful house and great location with beach access. Large windows offer endless views of Lake Michigan. Lower deck and grassy area perfect for sunset watching and yard games. If you enjoy biking, kayaking, wineries, or just a peaceful Lake Michigan setting this place is for you. Relax and enjoy all it has to offer!!
