Deer Run Farms is the perfect vacation home for a family looking to have an Up North experience. Located close to downtown Leland, this home accommodates 10 guests within its 4 bedrooms and 2.5 baths. The home is a restored historic property that offers modern comforts yet preserves the charm of the past. Upon entering the driveway, you will feel “vacation mode’ engaged as you view this charming farmhouse. Once inside you will find a perfect place to hang up your coat and start to explore the home. The well stocked kitchen offers new appliances including a double oven, microwave, refrigerator with ice maker, and dishwasher. The granite countertops and stainless steel appliances give the modern feel while the white cupboards maintain that farm house style. Within the kitchen space there is a dining table to seat six. Just off the kitchen area is a dining room complete with a large table with seating for 8 more guests. There is also a sofa and chairs for comfortable seating as well. The living room offers a large screen smart tv, a sectional couch and more chairs for lounging. The five bedrooms are all located upstairs. The primary bedroom has a king sized bed. A second bedroom with a king sized bed connects down a small hall to the third bedroom that has a twin bed. The fourth bedroom has a twin sized and a set of twin bunks making it the perfect room for children to share. The fifth room has a queen sized bed. As the house does not have central air, there are window a/c units located in two of the bedrooms to help provide a comfortable sleeping temperature. There are two bathrooms located on the bedroom level. One is a shower/tub combination and the other is a walk in shower. On the main level of the house there is a half bathroom as well. A washer and dryer are located in the laundry room for guest use as well. While the interior of the home is amazing, it really is the outdoor spaces that make the home feel like you never want to leave. There is a covered porch with two rocking chairs and a wooden swing- the perfect place to sip on your morning coffee or read a good book in peace. A second porch that is screened in and covered offers ample comfort seating and a table and chairs perfect for playing one of the provided card or board games or having an afternoon snack. In the courtyard you will find a table and chairs with an umbrella for outdoor seating. There is also a fire pit complete with marshmallow sticks for making s’mores! There are also provided lawn games such as croquet for your enjoyment as well. Nestled on 3 acres, the home’s setting offers plenty of privacy, but also keeps you close to the best that Leland has to offer. Van’s Beach is a Lake Michigan public beach located about a mile away. If you are looking to be on Lake Leelanau, just over a mile away is Nedows Bay which is a public swimming and picnic area. As guests of the home, you have access to sand toys and two stand up paddle boards and life jackets. Leland is affectionately know as Fishtown as it is one of the last working and thriving fishing districts on the Great Lakes. Leland is located on the Leland River, which connects Lake Leelanau and Lake Michigan together. This location provides with fantastic fishing opportunities and beautiful scenic views. While Leland may be a small village, there is so much to do including charter fishing, shopping, dining, wineries, beaches, swimming, hiking, ferry to Manitou Island and so much more. Other Northern Michigan attractions like Traverse City and the Sleeping Bear Sand Dunes are only about a 40 minute drive away. Deer Run Farms will easily become the vacation destination you will want to return to year after year. Please refer to our terms and conditions for the house rules. Due to liability reasons, township rules and insurance policies, day guests are not permitted without expressed permissions from Management. Guest capacity for the home is NOT to be exceeded at any time. Guests not adhering to this rule could face a fine or eviction as outlined in our terms and conditions that are agreed upon by renting our home. Capacity is strictly enforced and randomly checked. We will provide a starter package of paper towel, toilet paper, garbage bags, hand soap, dish soap and or dishwasher tabs if dishwasher is available at the property. Depending on the length of your stay, you may need to purchase more of these items. Other items not included in this list are not guaranteed.
