As the road curves along East Shore, it is impossible not to look up at this home. It is majestically and perfectly positioned on the property to overlook the spectacular views of Grand Traverse Bay. The property is gorgeous with gardens rolling down to the yard, which is perfect for badminton, frisbee and playing catch. It looks as if it’s been there for years, and it has. In 1924 it was on the cover of Better Homes & Garden when it was just a cottage and since expanded. Al Capone used it as one of his hideaways. You get the best of Northern Michigan here. A wonderful road to ride bikes, take walks or morning runs or just take in the views. The morning sunrises are spectacular. 10 minutes from downtown for shopping and exquisite dining, the State Theatre, vineyards literally in your back yard, and Old Mission Lighthouse and a wonderful trail system is a short drive. Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore is only 45 minutes away. The expansive deck is wonderful for basking in the sun and dinners you will remember for the views, the food and family time. Comfortable and spacious interior of the home is perfect for gathering together, but also with space to be alone. The interior has 4 bedrooms and 1.5 bathrooms allowing for up to 8 to stay. All of the bedrooms are located on the upper level of the home. The primary bedroom has a king sized bed with the other three bedrooms offering a queen sized bed in each room. The bathroom on the upper level is a full bathroom with a shower. The main level of the home offers a living room, office space, kitchen, and second bathroom space. The bathroom has a tub but no shower. There is an office space for those guests who are working during their stay, with views of the bay that easily distract. With multiple seating areas within the home, there is plenty of indoor room for families to gather to spend time with one another. The deck is a living space- it does not disappoint with 180 degree gorgeous views of the bay. Here we recommend our guests have outdoor meals cooked on the provided grill or have a bonfire as the day winds down. Even better, take the tv on the deck and take in your favorite movie. It will be an evening you will never forget. The home is located on Old Mission Peninsula and offers plenty of privacy while still keeping you close to area attractions like Downtown Traverse City, Flint Fields home of the GLEF horse show, Clinch Park and the Open Space. This home has a 30 day minimum stay due to township ordinances, but it offers those guests a premiere spot that will make you live like a local and dream of making Traverse City your home.
